Page title optimizationWhat it checks and how to fix it
What it checks
Reads the page's <title>. It fails when the title is missing, empty, duplicated (more than one <title> tag) or looks keyword-stuffed (the same word of three or more letters repeated more than twice). It warns when the title is under 20 or over 60 characters, contains characters like < > { } [ ], or is all uppercase, and passes otherwise.
Why it matters
The title is the clickable headline of your search result and the label of the browser tab, and it is one of the strongest on-page relevance signals. Titles over about 60 characters are cut off in results, very short ones waste the space, and stuffed or all-caps titles look spammy to both people and search engines.
How to fix it
Give every page exactly one unique, descriptive <title> of roughly 50 to 60 characters, with the most important words first and the brand last.
<head>
<title>DMARC record checker and setup guide | Example</title>
</head>
In Rails, set the title per view and render it once in the layout:
<%# in the view %>
<% content_for :title, "DMARC record checker and setup guide" %>
<%# in app/views/layouts/application.html.erb %>
<title><%= [content_for(:title), "Example"].compact_blank.join(" | ") %></title>
Make sure partials, plugins or a JavaScript framework are not adding a second <title> tag, and avoid repeating the same keyword several times.
