Homepage declares a site entity and WebSite schemaWhat it checks and how to fix it
What it checks
Reads the home page's JSON-LD. Passes when it declares both who runs the site, an Organization (or a subtype such as LocalBusiness, Corporation or OnlineStore) or a Person, and a WebSite entity. Warns when either of them is missing.
Why it matters
This is the baseline markup search engines and AI assistants use to identify the business or person behind a site: its name, logo, official URL and social profiles. It feeds knowledge panels and the site name shown in results, and helps assistants answer questions about your company with your own facts instead of guesses.
How to fix it
Add a JSON-LD block to the home page declaring both entities and linking them together.
<script type="application/ld+json">
{
"@context": "https://schema.org",
"@graph": [
{
"@type": "Organization",
"@id": "https://example.com/#organization",
"name": "Example",
"url": "https://example.com/",
"logo": "https://example.com/logo.png",
"sameAs": ["https://www.linkedin.com/company/example", "https://github.com/example"]
},
{
"@type": "WebSite",
"@id": "https://example.com/#website",
"name": "Example",
"url": "https://example.com/",
"publisher": { "@id": "https://example.com/#organization" }
}
]
}
</script>
For a personal site, use "@type": "Person" instead of Organization.
